We’ve heard plenty of rumors that ‘Suicide Squad 2‘ was going to be completely revamped with James Gunn taking over the film and none of the original cast would likely be involved. That no longer appears to be the case as it sounds like those rumors aren’t entirely true with Margot Robbie possibly reprising her role as Harley Quinn in the movie after all.
This news comes as Forbes updated an initial report that the actress would be involved in ‘The Suicide Squad’ and that the original reports weren’t correct. It also means that ‘Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn)‘ isn’t the only movie we have to look forward to her in.
As Robbie’s character was one of the standouts from the film and likely one of the few characters people will fondly remember from an otherwise painful movie to watch, it would only make sense that the studios and Gunn would want to find a way to bring her back. With Robbie’s return, it almost feels like you could bank on Viola Davis to return as Amanda Waller, and likely Will Smith being back as Deadshot but only time will tell.
With ‘The Suicide Squad’ going into production later this year, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to get at least a few hints as to the line up of Task Force X in this new outing.
Do you feel that ‘The Suicide Squad’ should see the return of Harley Quinn or would the second outing be best served from being completely disconnected from the original? Which villains do you hope to see end up being part of Task Force X in this new outing? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
