Netflix is betting big on Mark Millar‘s next cinematic venture as ‘Reborn’ is attaching some amazing talent to the upcoming series. It is no surprise that the Millarworld titles are going to have a huge push from the streaming giant with them phasing out their Marvel shows, but this move is still impressive.
‘Reborn’ will be directed by Chris McKay (‘The LEGO Batman Movie’) with Sandra Bullock planning to produce the feature and potentially star in it as well.
This would be McKay’s first time working with Netflix and with Bullock recently producing and starring in ‘Bird Box,’ this likely means that the actress had a fantastic experience creating the film.
The official description of the ‘Reborn’ comic is as follows:
MARK MILLAR & GREG CAPULLO join forces to create the smash hit sci-fi / fantasy story of the year: REBORN.
Where do you go when you die? Not heaven or hell; somewhere else. Somewhere you have to fight to survive. Somewhere the people from the past are waiting for you—the good and the bad.
The book starts off as eighty-year-old Bonnie Black dies in New York. Instantly, she is reborn young but in Adystria which is a fantasy world full of magic and monsters. In this world, she fights alongside many of the loved ones from her past by joining the eternal struggle of good vs. evil.
For those keeping score, Netflix is also in the process of adopting a few other Millarworld projects such as ‘Jupiter’s Legacy‘ and ‘Empress.’
