Game Of Thrones

Alright ‘Game of Thrones’ fans, what you are about to read is chock-full of speculation. So, don’t come crying to me if some of this information does not come to pass! Read on if you so desire!

A report has surfaced from a meeting of a group of TV networks in France that includes the alleged runtimes of the six final episodes of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Premiere magazine gave an Orange Cinema Series presentation regarding Season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’ which included the following:

If you can’t tell from the screenshot, the first two episodes of the season are listed at 60 minutes each, and the final four episodes are 80 minutes each. Now, here is why that could be some misinformation.

For one thing, HBO has not confirmed any of this information. The magazine addressed this, saying:

“The exact length of each episode has yet to be announced by HBO, OCS just gave us a more precise idea.”

Secondly, having four consecutive 80-minute episodes would be wildly out of character for the series. The run-times for episodes have varied anywhere from 59 to 81 minutes, and everything in between! Furthermore, per HBO drama rules, if an episode goes over an hour, the show’s producers must get permission from the network because that would impact the schedule.

Speaking about the upcoming final season of ‘Game of Thrones,’ HBO boss Richard Plepler has said:

“It’s a spectacle. The [showrunners] have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie.’”

‘Game of Thrones’ will return to HBO on April 14.
