Mads Mikkelsen Hannibal

At this point, ‘Hannibal‘ has been off the air since 2015 and Fannibals the world round have almost given up hope that we’d ever see Bryan Fuller be able to bring the rest of his idea for the series to life. However, according to Mads Mikkelsen who plays the most iconic cannibal of all time, it isn’t yet time to concede defeat. While doing the rounds for his upcoming Netflix film ‘Polar’ the topic of the most violent show CBS has ever given us came up, and the actor shared that Fuller and the team were still in contact with studios trying to work out a revival.

While talking about a return of ‘Hannibal,’ the actor let fans know that:

“Yeah, I think there’s always new hope. I haven’t heard anything specific. I know Bryan is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this… I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe. I have a hunch that might be where we’re going. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens.”

So while nothing is set in stone, it sounds like there is still an attempt being made to have the series come back to life for one more outing. Mads couldn’t be specific as to who they’ve spoken with so far saying:

“I don’t know where they looked. That is above my paycheck, but I know they’ve been talking to different studios.”

With ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ still needing to be told and Mikkelsen’s take on the character rivalling the Anthony Hopkins portrayal, this is something that we’ve all been clamoring to see happen.

Do you think that we could get a fourth season of ‘Hannibal’? What streaming service or network do you hope will revive the show? Would you like to see Mikkelsen recreate the story that made this character so famous? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
