Russo Brothers Thanos Avengers: Infinity War Star-Lord

We all know that The Avengers lost when they went up against The Mad Titan. Previously, The Russo Brothers put the blame on Thor for when he chooses to not aim for Thanos’ head with his ax at the end of ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ and now the pair have changed their story. The brothers have now decided to support fans who have long been angry at Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill. This was from Star-Lord not following through on the plan which had been laid out to stop The Mad Titan when they had almost wrested The Gauntlet from him.

We’re of course talking about the scene where Mantis was holding Thanos in a near trance, and Iron Man and Spider-Man were about to remove the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos before he could go to retrieve the last stone. Star-Lord was about to help here before he asked about Gamora which is the one thing that sunk for Thanos in his distracted state of mind.

According to Joe Russo:

“No. That was the turning point of that scene. Again, these are flawed characters that make emotional choices, human choices. Had Quill not done that, the movie might have ended right there.”

Had Mantis and Thanos not shared Gamora’s fate, Quill wouldn’t have gotten trigger happy and blown the plan to bits. While that means that “The Decimation” wouldn’t have happened and we likely wouldn’t see The Avengers going back in time and likely restoring the majority of those heroes who were lost. While we can’t confirm that Loki and Gamora will return after this plays out it feels likely that we’ll see both back by the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

Do you feel that Star-Lord or Thor are more to blame for Thanos being able to accomplish his goals in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
