Fans of Syfy’s ‘Van Helsing‘ have reason to celebrate as the network has picked the series up for a fourth season! Now, we won’t have to worry too much with whatever cliffhanger they end up giving us as there will be at least another 13-episodes to look forward to when the show returns in 2019. One big change, though, will be that Neil LaBute has stepped down as showrunner to be replaced by Jonathan Walker (‘Continuum’). This shouldn’t be cause for concern though as Walker was already an executive producer on the series and had written eight of the episodes.
According to Walker:
“Having been in the writing room on ‘Van Helsing’ since Season 1 I’m excited to take the reins as showrunner from Neil LaBute. Season 4 will delve deeper into the iconic lore of the vampires and their ultimate goals for this world. New villains will rise along with unexpected heroes joining the fight. We have a fantastic build planned for this season, and I’m thrilled to share it with our dedicated fans.”
There is no news as to if the unexpected heroes will be characters that Vanessa has already met in her journey or entirely new faces to the show.
We know that Vanessa Van Helsing and her fellow heroes have been fighting to reclaim the world from the vampires who took over from “The Rising” and it sounds like the upcoming finale and possible some of the next season will see them make some strides in their quest.
