The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance

When Netflix first announced that they would be making ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ with The Jim Henson Company, it was easy to get excited about the series. Now, the first behind-the-scenes photo from this upcoming 10-episode show is shining a spotlight directly on the puppetry of the show. Not only will they be using old school practical techniques in bringing these characters to life, but they’ll be doing so without CGI on the creatures!

There isn’t that much known about the show outside of the fact that it is a prequel to the 1982 film and takes place many years before it. With whatever is being added to the backstory, you have to wonder if it will change what any of the reveals in the original movie could now mean.

Toy artist Tim Clarke was both a creature designer and fabrication supervisor on the first ‘Dark Crystal’ and shared this image for fans to enjoy!

I am thrilled to see that the production team is going this route which will have the new series having the same feeling as the original feature film.
