Another fantastic genre actor has joined the cast of ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘! Jessica Henwick (‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’,’The Defenders’) will be joining the production in an undisclosed role. Henwick is best known for her work as Nymeria Sand on HBO’s Game of Thrones‘ and the Netflix Marvel TV shows as Colleen Wing who was first introduced in ‘Iron Fist.’ While the first season of ‘Iron Fist’ failed to impress audiences, she really shined in ‘The Defenders’ and the second season of the series.

As with most of Legendary’s casting for the MonsterVerse crossover film, not much was given beyond her addition to the cast. We do know that she’ll be working across from Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Eiza González, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Demian Bichir, and Julian Dennison. Danai Gurira was also in talks to join the production.

Most likely we’ll see at least some of the humans involved in this film not make it out as the director Adam Wingard wants audiences to be teary-eyed when the final credits roll, He has also shared how this film relates to the upcoming ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters‘:

“Ours is more in continuity with the sequel to Godzilla right now. They’re doing Godzilla 2 with Mike Dougherty directing, so our film is in present day. We have a couple characters from Godzilla 2 in ours, but it’ll be interesting to see how Kong has fared over the years. You see him in that film, and he’s just constantly under attack. Things are going wrong, and there’s probably been lots of human intervention since then. It’ll be interesting to see a more rugged, a bit more aged Kong in this film.”

I fully admit I’m eager to see how we’ll see a more hardened Kong look in this film.
