Jude Law

Spoilers are a big thing for films these days, and with a franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’ve all heard how serious they can be about keeping secrets. Now, Jude Law is shining a light on how some of this secrecy is held all while not revealing his role in the upcoming ‘Captain Marvel‘ movie.

Stephen Colbert tried to trick Law into admitting who he was by saying, “I thought you were Mar-Vell. You are not Mar-Vell.”

Law was quick to joke that I can’t tell you who I am, nice try” but went on to share how secretive the studio is.

According to Law:

“I think it might be this British-American difference. With Fantastic Beasts, they’re like ‘We assume you’re not going to give away any of these secrets. And if you do, we’re going to tell you not to again, and we may quietly kill you.’
In Marvel, it’s like, ‘DON’T YOU F****** EVER TELL ANYBODY ABOUT THIS!'”

Yet, somehow we still see Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland walking around alive so it can’t be quite that bad. As to how locked down things were on set:

“There was a guy hired, I promise you, on set. I would step out, they would say ‘Mr. Law, we’re ready for you.’ And you would step out in your suit, and they’d be like, ‘PUT THE CLOAK ON! PUT THE CLOAK ON! HIDE! PUT THE HOOD ON!
My children visited the set. They were running, going ‘SIGN THE NDAs! WHO ARE THESE GUYS?’ It was tight and scary.”

We’ve previously heard from Brie Larson that the rest of the actors hadn’t even been informed that she was cast to play Captain Marvel until the rest of the world found during the big announcement at San Diego Comic-Con Hall H.
