Ever since Jensen Ackles of ‘Supernatural’ fame was seen on the set of The CW’s Arrowverse there has been a slew of rumors that the actor might be slated to play Bruce Wayne and Batman on the series. However, as quick as that rumor surfaced, we’ve now seen that Stephen Amell has taken aim and shot it down. While we’re getting to meet Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, and Batwoman in the near future it doesn’t sound like the Dark Knight is making an appearance at any point in the near future.
In fact, according to Amell it looks like Ackles was on set just to check it out since he’s a fan of Grant Gustin.
Here is what the actor had to say about it:
Let me squash this rumor right now. @JensenAckles was on set tonight because he’s Grant Gustin’s #2 fan (I’m #1) and not because he’s playing The Batman.

With the busy schedule that ‘Supernatural’ has, it seems unlikely that he’d be thinking of throwing another character into the mix. Especially one which would start as a cameo and could easily grow into an ongoing series. While Ackles would make a great choice for the part, there has been no indication that a new live-action take on Batman for the small screen is on anyone’s radar right now.
Do you believe Stephen Amell that Jensen Ackles won’t be playing Bruce Wayne or Batman in the upcoming Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover? Would you like to see the actor take on the part or is there anyone else you have in mind to play an ongoing take on Bruce Wayne for television? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
