Charmed

In a match made in heaven, it appears that ‘Charmed‘ will be celebrating Halloween in its first outing of the rebooted series. On October 28th, we’ll be able to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve a little early as the episode titled “Halloween Party Time” is set to really give us a look at what these witches will be up to on what is one of the most important days in witchcraft.

Unlike much of network television which likes to shoehorn in holiday episodes, a Halloween one rather fits for ‘Charmed’ due to the nature of the series.

The synopsis for the episode explains it as:

With the instruction of Harry (Rupert Evans), the sisters are put through witch lessons, so they are able to properly practice their magic. However, when Macy (Madeleine Mantock) learns of a mysterious death in her lab from Galvin (Ser’Darius Blain), she informs her sisters and together, they devise a plan to suss out the demon. Trying to speed the plan along, Mel (Melonie Diaz) uses her magic irresponsibly leaving Harry no choice but to constrain her, which creates tension between them. Meanwhile, Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) continues to struggle at balancing her two worlds – her sorority one and her witch one – especially after she volunteers to throw a Halloween party at her house. Ellen Tamaki and Nick Hargrove also star. Norman Buckley directed the episode written by Joey Falco.

It still isn’t clear how audiences will react to the series with only a single episode out at this point, but early reactions are all over the map. Many fans of the original are both loving or hating the new series with newcomers to the franchise also not having a solid decision leaning either way. Much of the success or failure for the series will likely depend on how much of the viewership tunes in over the next few episodes to accurately get an idea of what people are thinking about it.

Are you happy that we’ll see some witchy fun on ‘Charmed’ in time for ‘Halloween’? Do you think most holiday episodes are a waste of time and if so is this one justified? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
