Eddie Redmayne Harry Potter Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

Potterheads have been dutifully following the stories of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his adventures with J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.’ While it wasn’t the story of ‘Harry Potter’ that we all grew to love, it was the next best thing.

With the sequel, ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ drawing ever closer, we have been given a few details about how the story will fit into the bigger picture. The film will pick up a few months after the events of the first one in New York. Fans will also be introduced to a young Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, and will be able to see how this story will link to ‘Harry Potter.’

Redmayne recently teased a major link to the ‘Potter’ series that will be revealed in the new film, saying:

“The script is labyrinthian. It’s like you’re going down this maze and [J.K. Rowling] is weaving the stories together with such intricacy. Along the way, these connections to ‘Harry Potter’ and secrets are falling at your feet. And there is one… I got to the end and my jaw dropped. There was one thing I didn’t see coming.”

The studio has also released various trailers and posters that are filled with Easter Eggs and nods to both ‘Harry Potter’ and the entire magical universe created by Rowling.

‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ hits theaters on November 16. The film was directed by David Yates and stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Johnny Depp, Ezra Miller, Jude Law, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, David Sakurai, Claudia Kim, Brontis Jodorowsky, Wolf Roth, Victoria Yeates, Derek Riddell, Poppy Corby-Tuech, and Cornell S. John.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.
