Creepshow

Creepshow‘ is one of the most beloved anthology horror stories of all time and the new television series is obviously embracing its past. The first poster for Shudder’s upcoming show not only pays tribute to the horror style of the past but paves the way for the future as well. The original film was directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King, so everyone involved knows that they have huge shoes to fill. Thankfully, Greg Nicotero (‘The Walking Dead’) is the executive producer and director for the series so we know he’s got the talent to tackle this. In addition, he’s teamed up with artist Tim Bradstreet for this fantastic poster.

Creepshow poster CR: Shudder

Stunningly creepy! Previously, Shudder general manager Craig Engler stated:

“Creepshow is one of the most beloved and iconic horror anthologies from two masters of the genre, George A. Romero and Stephen King. We’re thrilled to continue their legacy with another master of horror, Greg Nicotero, as we bring a new Creepshow TV series exclusively to Shudder members.”

While not everyone is a fan of what ‘The Walking Dead’ has become, Nicotero has done an amazing job at crafting compelling looking zombies over the years, and the episodes which he has directed have almost all been standouts for the show.

When talking about the upcoming series, he admitted:

“Creepshow is a project very close to my heart! It is one of those titles that embraces the true spirit of horror… thrills and chills celebrated in one of its truest art forms, the comic book come to life! I’m honored to continue the tradition in the ‘spirit’ which it was created.”

This isn’t technically a reboot as they’re just using the same name and concept as the original films, but the word will undoubtedly be used to describe the project. Ideally, Nicotero will be able to live up to the high quality of the first film and deliver an episodic series which horror fans will be thrilled to watch.
