Carlson Romano kim possible

Fans who were hoping to see Christy Carlson Romano in the new live-action ‘Kim Possible’ movie just got the best news ever! Romano, who voiced the cheerleading spy for the original animated series will make a cameo in the new film! She announced the news during D23’s Saturday Morning on the Lot at Walt Disney Studios. Romano said:

“I can’t say too much about my involvement yet, but I’m very excited to help usher in the strong, empowered female character I helped bring to life, to a new generation. And I’m equally thrilled to see what the original fans think!”

While the role of both Kim and Kim’s mom are taken (Alyson Hannigan will be playing Ann Possible) it isn’t out of the question that the film would feature Kim as an adult in a flashforward scene or two.

Following the announcement of the revamped film from Disney, many fans were hoping to see a return of Romano and the original Ron Stoppable, played by Will Friedle. Hoping to soften the blow that the film would recast the characters, Disney Channel produced a skit of Romano and Friedle auditioning for their original roles. Check out the skit below!

In another exciting piece of news, Patton Oswalt will join the cast as the supervillain Professor Dementor, the character he also voiced in the original animated series.

Sadie Stanley is taking over the Kimmunicator in the upcoming film and will be joined by Sean Giambrone (‘The Goldbergs’) as Ron Stoppable. The cast will be rounded out by Todd Stashwick (‘The Originals’) as Dr. Drakken, and Issac Ryan Brown (‘Raven’s Home’) as Wade Load.

The first official teaser trailer was also released! Check it out below. Don’t miss the live action ‘Kim Possible’ film on the Disney Channel next year!
