Jurassic Park

It’s been a quarter of a century, but the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise is still going strong with the fifth entry in the series, this years ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, dominating the box office this summer. This year the team at Mattel took over the master toy license for the ‘Jurassic’ films from Hasbro, who had held the license since the first film hit theaters in 1993. So far their new toylines have been a smash hit with fans and collectors snatching them up off of the shelves as soon as they’ve been stocked. But this week at San Diego Comic-Con, Mattel announced some new plans to step up their game even further by bringing their ‘Jurassic Park’ line to a whole new scale!

While details are scarce for the time being, Mattel has officially announced an all-new 6″ scale line of ‘Jurassic Park’ figures! These figures appear to be made similar in style to Mattel’s DC Multiverse figures, featuring detailed sculpts and a wide range of articulation. The only characters that have been announced so far are Owen Grady (based on his appearance in ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’) and Ian Malcolm (based on his appearance in the original ‘Jurassic Park’). This at least tells us that the new line will span across the entire ‘Jurassic’ franchise and gives us hope of seeing some of our favorite characters from all five films.

Beyond the two human figures, Mattel also announced a scaled version of Blue the Velociraptor! Blue looks to be well articulated with a solid sculpt that elevates her a bit above the other previously released versions. The question now that we have to ask is, are we going to see more Dinosaurs in this line? Is there a chance we will see vehicles too? Only time will tell.

Hopefully, we will start seeing these hitting stores later this year with a wide variety of both humans and dinos added to expand this new line out a bit. You can check out full and extensive photo galleries of these newly announced figures over at ToyArk.

What characters are you hoping to see added to this new 6″ ‘Jurassic Park’ toyline from Mattel? We personally can’t wait to see how big the T-Rex ends up being if they make one for it! Let us know what you want to see in the comments section below!
