It looks like we’ll be seeing more of the Quantum Realm when ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ gets a home release! The news came from director Peyton Reed was asked what kind of deleted scenes we can expect from the Blu-Ray release. While he wouldn’t give us much in the way of specifics, this was one area that he was willing to address.
While there is likely only so much of the Quantum Realm that we’ll be able to see either Scott Lang or Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne explore, we do know that it should at least be pretty visually spectacular. According to Reed:
“There’s stuff that you do that’s, you know, well this scene is good but it’s a repeated beat of this other thing, and this thing is way better, so no one needs to see that version. But yeah there’s some good stuff in the Quantum Realm and definitely some stuff with Walton Goggins, there’s maybe a little more Quantum Realm stuff that you’ll see on the Blu-Ray.”
Now, we have a few ideas of where this could be going but it will directly reference the film, so be warned as there are spoilers below!
It isn’t clear if what Reed said means we’ll be seeing more of what Janet has been up to all of these years or potentially what she’s doing when Hank Pym comes to rescue her. Whatever it does mean, though, is that we’ll be getting a different perspective of a story beat which happened in the theatrical release.
With only be 10 minutes of deleted scenes on the disc, don’t get your hopes up on that many new scenes but what is being teased does sound exciting.
