We already know that Netflix is bringing ‘Jessica Jones‘ back for a third season and now have learned that the show’s star Krysten Ritter will be directing one of the episodes! This episode will be her directorial debut. Letting actors direct their shows is something we’ve seen Marvel is willing to do with the last instance being when Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., directed a pivotal episode on his show.

We don’t know much about the upcoming third season of ‘Jessica Jones’ which has seen the character lose her friends, associate, and mother but also appears to have come to terms with her past. The upcoming season is currently in production in New York City, so we’ll likely see a few hints dropping soon as to who and what Jones will be up against.

According to Ritter:

“I am beyond thrilled to make my directorial debut on Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The entire crew and cast has become family to me, and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to work with our incredible team in this new way. I am so grateful that Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb, Marvel, and Netflix entrusted me to take the reins.”

The shot at the top of the page shows her working with Manuel Billeter who is the director of photography on ‘Jessica Jones.’

Are you looking forward to seeing what Krysten Ritter can do behind the camera as well as in front of it? Do you think this will be a Jessica heavy episode or focus more on her friends so the actress can concentrate on directing and not acting? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
