Luke Cage

For those of you who somehow haven’t made time to start binge-watching the second season of ‘Luke Cage‘ quite yet, then you might be wondering how Simone Missick’s Misty Knight will factor in. The actress who plays the part has dropped a few hints of what to expect without wading into the deep end of spoiler territory and talks about one team up that comic fans are dying to hear about.

While what most fans have been looking forward to this season is if Misty would get her bionic arm, that isn’t the area which Missick is touching upon.

No, it is the “Daughters of the Dragon‘ team up of Misty and Colleen that we’ve all been rooting for that she addresses:

“Without giving too much away, obviously, the relationship between Misty and Colleen is going to be explored, and that is the greatest gift that I could have. Working with Jessica Henwick has been a pleasure, not only because of who she is, as a person, but because you know you’re giving the fans what they want to see, with these two characters together, with the hopes that it will eventually be Daughters of Dragon. Hopefully, that’s something that they’re satisfied with, once they see the season.”

Not everyone was thrilled with ‘The Defenders’ but the characters from both Luke Cage and Iron Fist contain a slew of team up potential. While “Heroes for Hire” being the obvious choice, there is also the “Daughters of Dragon” which these two leading ladies were part of in the comics starting back in 1977.

As to how Missick’s character will interact with Cage and Iron Fist is another story as:

“But then, because this is not Harlem, it’s Chinatown and it’s downtown, it’s not really Misty’s beat. I just get to find the humor in these outstandingly unbelievable scenarios. With Luke, it’s like, ‘Okay, this person has impenetrable skin.’ With Danny, he’s like, ‘I am the Immortal Iron Fist from K’un-Lun, that was forged with a dragon.’ That is just so much fun to explore, as well. And everyone over at that show has been great.”

Expect her subtle notes of humor to flow through these interactions and help lighten up the tone of this season.
