Michelle Ryan Doctor Who

Michelle Ryan will return to ‘Doctor Who’ to reprise her role as Lady Christina de Souza! This September, the actress will star in four new Big Finish audio productions.

Ryan played the thief who appeared in the ‘Who’ episode ‘Planet of the Dead’ in 2009. She appeared alongside David Tennant, and these new audio stories will explore what happened after she disappeared on a double decker bus.

Speaking about her return to the ‘Who’ universe, Ryan said:

“Being asked to revisit the role of Lady Christina was a very easy decision. Adventure, a sunny climate and mind-boggling scenarios are included in the scripts, everything I remember of my ‘Doctor Who’ experience.”

She continued:

“Alas no David Tennant, but there’s a host of new characters to help along the way. I love that we get to see a little more of her heart in the stories, that she does care about the greater good whilst also satisfying her curiosity for life.”

‘Doctor Who’ audio senior producer David Richardson had nothing but good things to say about Ryan’s return, saying:

“Lady Christina de Souza was a standout guest character in ‘Doctor Who.’ When she disappeared off in her flying bus, I wanted to know what happened next – and as it turns out, so did [the character’s creator] Russell T Davies! Russell very generously embraced the idea of us giving Lady Christina her own audio spin-off, and Michelle Ryan was delighted about the prospect of returning.”

Warren Brown (‘Luther’) will co-star with Ryan in the audio adventures, and Jacqueline King will reprise her role of Donna’s mother, Sylvia Noble.

There will be four new stories in total, with the adventures being called: ‘It Takes a Thief’ by John Dorney, ‘Skin Deep’ by James Goss, ‘Portrait of a Lady’ by Tim Dawson and ‘Death on the Mile’ by Donald McLeary.
