Disney fans’ favorite personal healthcare companion is back, along with the rest of the ‘Big Hero 6’ crew! Disney just released the first full-length trailer for ‘Big Hero 6: The Series,’ which debuts next month.
The series is set to take place after the events of the film from 2017 and will explore the friendship between 14-year-old whiz kid Hiro and inflatable robot Baymax as they navigate daily life with the rest of their friends.
Another TV special that was released in November, ‘Baymax Returns,’ saw Hiro getting into some hot water as he took shortcuts while trying to rebuild Baymax. This new series will undoubtedly send some new challenges their way! Luckily, they have the rest of the gang to help them out.
The returning voice cast features Scott Adsit as Baymax, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff, and Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. The series will bring on new talent as well, such as Khary Payton replacing Damon Wayans Jr. for the role of Wasabie and Brooks Whelan replacing T.J. Miller as Fred.
Unexpected voice talent for the series will include Gordon Ramsay voicing a cooking competition participant named Bolton Gramercy, and fellow celebrity chef Alton Brown voicing cooking show host Yum Laboughé. Daniel Henney (Hiro’s brother) and James Cromwell (Professor Callaghan), will also return.
The original film made $657 million at the global box office back in 2014 and took home Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. The new series will premiere with two back-to-back episodes on both Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, at 9 a.m. on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney Channel VOD platforms.
