There is no doubt in any moviegoer’s mind at this point that Chris Hemsworth is the God of Thunder but in the first ‘Thor‘ movie that wasn’t quite as clear. In fact, they went so far above and beyond to make Hemsworth look like the classic Thor – a look that Kevin Feige regrets they put the actor through. This regret is actually his greatest in anything that they’ve done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date!
It wasn’t the casting, but it was that they made Hemsworth dye his eyebrows blond for the first movie. Yes, when asked about his regrets with the MCU, Feige stated:
“I’ll tell you one specific example I just thought of today and I laugh at it. Definitively, the one thing I would definitely do differently if I had to do it over again, is we would not have dyed Chris Hemsworth’s eyebrows blond in the first Thor. We were like, ‘Thor is blond! He has to be blond!”
I’m sure some fans would come up with other issues that might have had more weight to them, but at least this shows that Feige cares for the actors who hade helped shape the franchise that moviegoers can’t get enough of. Feige went on to say:
“And Hemsworth was great and awesome and pulled it off, but there are a couple of shots I watch, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, that poor guy, we made him freaking dye his eyebrows! That’s ridiculous!
I can laugh about it now because Hemsworth is Thor and he doesn’t need long hair, or a cape, or a hammer, or two eyeballs to be Thor.”
