Lauren Cohan

Earlier this year, there was some question as to whether or not Maggie from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ would live to slay for another season, because actor Lauren Cohan had taken another job on the upcoming ABC action series ‘Whiskey Tango’ opposite Scott Foley.  Reportedly, Cohan, one of the longest-running and most popular cast members was unhappy with the low salaries AMC was offering her to return when compared to the huge paychecks given to male co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus.  (For the record, Cohan didn’t want her salary to match theirs, but still wanted more than what was being offered.)  At the time, it was made public that her ABC contract was amenable and would allow her time off to return to ‘The Walking Dead’ in some capacity.  But Cohan appeared at CinemaCon and revealed that she was returning to the show that made her famous… and not much else.

“I’m going back.  There’s a lot more Maggie story to tell… You know we’re not allowed to tell you anything, but it’s good.”

‘The Walking Dead’ Season Nine is due to begin filming next week.  It has not been revealed at this time whether or not ABC picked up ‘Whisky Tango’.  If so, Cohan may still have enough of a gap in her schedule once ‘The Walking Dead’ wraps its next season to film the ABC series, on which she will play a “badass” CIA agent named Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge.  If ABC opts to order that show as a mid-season series, her window will be even wider.  Then again, it may not have been picked up at all.

Before that, Cohan will be seen on the big screen in action/thriller ‘Mile 22’ starring alongside Mark Wahlberg and John Malkovich which opens on August 3, 2018.

Are you glad that Maggie Rhee will be back for at least another season of ‘The Walking Dead’?
