Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
“ARE THESE YOUR POPS?!”
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going strong for ten years now, and seems to show no signs of slowing down! This week we’ve got a few new additions to the Funko POP! Vinyl collection based on the MCU, including a new wave of ‘Black Panther’ POP! Vinyls plus a new Hot Topic exclusive that you may need to sit down for!
From ‘Black Panther’, we have a new wave loaded with fan-demanded characters like M’Baku, Ulysses Klaw, and a shirtless scarred version of Erik Killmonger! These are expected to release sometime in the immediate future as the film is set for home release in just a few weeks!
This next one is a doozy, and it’s already hitting stores now! This week Hot Topic announced an all-new ’10 Years Of Marvel’ version of the villainous Thanos! This new Hot Topic exclusive version features the mad titan sitting on his floating throne as seen in 2014’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’! He’s a 6″ scale POP!, but is even bigger thanks to his floating throne, so he’s retailed at a whopping $32.50! A small price to pay to rule the Marvel Universe.
Baby Baby Baby
Last year’s smash hit action film ‘Baby Driver’ from director Edgar Wright (best known as the man behind ‘Shaun Of The Dead’) is coming to your Funko POP! collection! The line is relatively small by Funko standards, including Baby and Bats, plus a Chase variant of Baby without his sunglasses. These are due in stores this June!
‘Incredible’ New Disney Pops!
The team at Funko seems to be just as excited as everyone else when it comes to Disney’s ‘The Incredibles 2’! This week they revealed their full line of POP! Vinyls for the film, including a number of new retailer exclusives!
The main line will consist of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, Frozone, Jack Jack, Screenslaver, and The Underminer! There will also be an ‘invisible’ Chase variant of Violet for those who like to hunt! These are due out in May!
As we mentioned, there will also be a number of retailer exclusives for this line as well. Exclusives include Classic Elastigirl (Target), Glow-In-The-Dark Screenslaver (Target), Metallic Jack Jack (Hot Topic), Monster Jack Jack (Funko Shop), and Flame Jack Jack (Target).
Finally, not necessarily an ‘Incredibles’ item, but a fantastic new exclusive from Disney is coming to Box Lunch stores! Released this week is an all new ‘Wall-E’ POP! Vinyl to celebrate Earth Day! The best part? To adequately celebrate Earth Day, this figure is made of 20% recycled materials, the box is made with 80% recycled materials, and the window of the box is made of 100% recycled materials! Wall-E is in Box Lunch stores now!
