Star Wars: Episode IX

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘ already gave us a few familiar faces which weren’t in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ or barely brought up, and now at least one of them might be coming back. This is firmly a rumor at this point but if true, also falls firmly into spoiler territory. Sadly, this isn’t the news that we’ve wanted to hear (which would be that Billy Dee Williams would finally be back as Lando Calrissian). The rumored news still would be a reason for celebration though.

If you’d like to go into the next “Star Wars” movie without anything spoiled, now is the time to turn back! If you don’t mind a potential spoiler for Star Wars: Episode IX’, please keep reading after the image below!

According to the New York Daily News:

“The success of the scenes featuring Yoda in ‘The Last Jedi’ were huge,” says our insider. If all goes according to plan, the sci-fi space sage will rejoin the series in spirit to mentor a young warrior played by British actress Daisy Ridley, we’re told.”

If this source is to be trusted, it means that we’ll likely have at least one last outing with Frank Oz as Master Yoda in the next film. We’ve already seen multiple comments by Mark Hamill that he isn’t too interested in reprising his role as Luke Skywalker so this could mean that we won’t be seeing his Force Ghost pop up to give Rey her third lesson.

Would you be thrilled to see Yoda return for ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’? Do you feel that he should be the one who helps train Rey or would a Force Ghost of Luke Skywalker be the way to go? Could Yoda and Skywalker work together to accomplish this goal? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
