For fans of the original ‘Mythbusters‘ who miss Adam Savage, you have a reason to rejoice as Discovery Channel has him coming back to host a new spinoff series titled ‘Mythbusters Jr.’! Fans who love seeing myths get busted are going to have a new outlet that will feature young geniuses tackling the concept of the original series.
In the show, Savage will guide six brilliant kids who get to show off their knowledge in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) skills in a 10-episode season that separates fact from fiction.
According to Savage:
“I’m so excited to be returning to Discovery to work with these kids on a new incarnation of the show I love so much. To be able to confront them with great questions and the resources to answer them is such a dream. Helping to inspire future scientists and engineers is a mission I share with Discovery.”
It won’t be quite the same form of hosting fans came to love in the original ‘Mythbusters’ series, but anything that supports and rewards kids attaining knowledge and using their brains is a win in my book.
Chief brand officer of Discovery and Factual, Nancy Daniels weighed in on the show and stated:
“Adam Savage is a true American original, a singular talent who inspired a new generation of MythBusters and will now get a chance to mentor a remarkable group of kid geniuses. MythBusters is an iconic series and to be able to expand its roster in spectacular style with MythBusters Jr. is something that we are proud to do.”
We’ll be able to check out this new concept in the fourth quarter of 2018 on the Science Channel, but an exact air date has yet to be determined. Either way, fans of ‘Mythbusters,’ Adam Savage, or parents who want a new show for their kids to watch have something fun to look forward to!
