Mythbusters

We’ve known for quite some time that ‘Mythbusters‘ would return if ‘Mythbusters: The Search‘ ended up going over well with audiences and now it is happening! This Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at 9 pm ET we will see the new hosts debuting the upcoming season on Science Channel! This planned 14-episode run won’t have a return of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman who ended the series in 2016 but will be hosted by Brian Louden and Jon Lung who won the competition series mentioned above. We’ll see new experiments, new myths being busted, and all kinds of actions “using everything from exploding gas tanks to rocket-powered swords to airbag disasters.”

How the look and feel of the show will be compared to the original is still unknown, but I suspect that these hosts will bring their unique style to the upcoming series. Ideally, these two hosts will have the same kind of draw that both Savage and Hyneman had. Perhaps we’ll even see them share an on and off-screen chemistry that works well for a long term relationship as the original hosts had nothing to do with one another when not filming

We’ve already seen a bit of how they work on camera in ‘Mythbusters: The Search’ so many viewers will be familiar with the duo. It will just be winning over the rest of the potential audience that will be the channel.

For those unfamiliar with the new hosts, Brian Louden is from Texas and has been making things perfect for the show his entire life. As a child, he used PVC pipe and an air compressor to make an air cannon. His degree is in biology and has worked as an engineer with a huge interest in S.T.E.M.

On the other end of the spectrum is Jon Lung who is from New York. While also an engineer, he has been doing product design for years. His hobby tends to be searching random places such as junkyards for useful pieces to make things out of.

With Louden and Lung potentially being able to create some of the same kind of out of this world stunts that Savage and Hyneman were known for it could easily be a draw for audiences who can’t get enough of the show. However, much will depend on their personalities and what exactly it is they end up making.
