One of the sisters in the new ‘Charmed’ reboot has been cast. Sarah Jeffery will portray Madison Pruitt, the youngest of the fledgling witches. Here is her previously released casting description:
MADISON PRUITT | Mel’s younger sister (she’s 18-ish), an athletic (pilates, cheerleading) college student pledging a sorority, Madison is the opposite of her feminist sister with a desire to fit in. Madison is horrified to learn she is a witch. Her power is hearing people’s thoughts.
Melonie Diaz was recently cast as Madison’s sister Mel. Also cast is Ser’Darius Blaine who plays Galvin, the boyfriend of Macy a third young woman who may or may not be Mel and Madison’s long-lost third sister.
The new series is executive produced by ‘Jane the Virgin”s creator and showrunner Jennie Synder Urman, Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin and Brad Silberling. O’Toole and Rardin are writing the ‘Charmed’ pilot, while Silberling will direct.
Jeffery has served as a series regular on the first three seasons of ‘Shades of Blue’, playing Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Cristina Santos. The third season has yet to premier and it is unknown if there will be a fourth, but reportedly Jeffrey was released in order to do ‘Charmed’ and may return in a limited capacity to ‘Shades of Blue’, possibly for four episodes.
She will also play Daphne in the ‘Scooby-Doo’ prequel ‘Daphne & Velma’ along with Sarah Gilman who plays Velma. She also previously starred on ‘Wayward Pines’ as Amy and ‘Rogue’ as Evie Travis and has appeared on ‘The X-Files’ as Brianna Stapleton. She starred in the first ‘Descendants’ movie on the Disney Channel as Princess Audrey, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty and also voiced the character on the animated ‘Descendants: Wicked World’.
The new version of ‘Charmed’ has had a pilot ordered but has not been ordered to series yet. Check back for any news?
