What We Do In The ShadowsIf you loved the vampire mockumentary ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ which was released back in 2014 then you’ll be thrilled to learn that FX is adapting the film to an ongoing television show! Before you get too worried about that, it should be noted that Jemaine Clement (‘Flight of the Conchords’) and Taika Waititi (‘Thor: Ragnarok‘) who wrote, directed, and starred in the original will be developing this as well!

The idea is to develop a half-hour comedy based on the original New Zealand vampire film which Clement is writing, and Waititi will direct, at least for the pilot. It seems that FX must have had a pilot order in as the show already has a cast which includes Kayvan Novak (‘Danger Mouse’,’Thunderbirds Are Go’), Matt Berry (‘Toast of London’), Natasia Demetriou (‘Year Friends’), and Harvey Guillen (‘The Thundermans’,’The Internship’). The original series had both Clement and Waititi as characters though with Waititi’s new found fame from working with Marvel Studios, he might not be able to make an ongoing commitment to this series.

The duo will also be executive producing with Scott Rudin (The Night Of, The Newsroom), Paul Simms (Flight of the Conchords, Atlanta) and Scott Rudin Productions’ Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.

For those unfamiliar with the cult classic, ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ follows four vampires who share a house together. During the night they would go out and hunt but were forced to deal with one another during the day which ended up to be pretty amusing.
