Simon Pegg and Nick Frost made a name for themselves with the iconic horror comedy ‘Shaun of the Dead‘ and now they’re returning to this style of genre mash-up style with ‘Truth Seekers’. At this point, it is unclear if the pair will be acting together in it as they did in ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘The World’s End’ or will just be backing it with their indie production company Stolen Picture. Even if the duo aren’t in front of the camera for this outing, I’m sure anything they do behind it will shine through for audiences everywhere.
‘Truth Seekers’ will be a half-hour comedy about three paranormal investigators who will go up against new supernatural creatures or phenomenon in every episode. The series will surely be poking fun at the slew of shows out which are done in this style.
According to Pegg:
“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something. It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. ‘Shaun of the Dead’ was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”
There is no timeline, cast, network, or streaming service attached at this time and it is still unclear if the duo will be involved in any aspect out of producing the series.
