The DC Film Legacy Lives On

Bear with us on this one because the details are incredibly scarce, but some amazing new figures of some iconic cinematic versions of DC Comics heroes may be coming our way soon from Mattel! a new image was leaked online earlier this week on a Facebook page called “They’re Action Figures” along with some minor details of a whole new line of 6″ scale DC Comics figures that will stand on its own aside from the current ‘DC Multiverse’ line! The new line, tentatively called ‘Worlds Greatest’ will feature new fully articulated 6″ scale figures based on classic live-action versions of some of our favorite DC Comics heroes! So far the figures shown include a Linda Carter ‘Wonder Woman’, John Wesley Shipp ‘The Flash’, and Val Kilmer Batman from ‘Batman Forever’!

Aside from the figures themselves, the ‘Worlds Greatest’ line will come packaged with additional alternative hands and accessories, as well as a display base with background for the figure. The rumored price point is around $29.99, which thankfully isn’t too much more than the current DC Multiverse 6″ line goes for. No word has come out from Mattel regarding this line so far, but hopefully, we will have more information soon!

Infinite ‘Marvel Legends Rumors’

With a number of new Marvel movies coming out this year, rumors have been running rampant as far as what figures we may be seeing from the 6″ scale ‘Marvel Legends’ line! An online retailer from Australia called ‘The Little Toy Company‘ appears to have answered a few of these questions for us if their recently posted pre-orders are accurate. The pre-orders, which include new Marvel Legends waves for ‘Avengers’ and ‘Deadpool’ themed waves, include a few images of figures that have previously been confirmed by Hasbro, as well as listings for a few other characters that are probably safe bets but are still unconfirmed either way.

For the wave coinciding with the release of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, we’ve got comic themed versions of King Cobra, Songbird, and Taskmaster (all figures previously confirmed by Hasbro), as well as movie versions of Captain America (‘Nomad’), Iron Man, and Spider-Man (‘Iron-Spider’). There will also be a figure of Proxima Midnight, but it is currently unknown if this will be a movie or comic book styled figure. Considering she is in the movie, it’s entirely possible it’ll be a film version, although it’s entirely possible that Hasbro may just give us the comic version anyway. If you buy the whole wave, you can build your very own Thanos figure! It isn’t clear at this time if this will be a movie style Thanos, or if it will be somewhat of a rehash of the previous Thanos Build-A-Figure.

Unfortunately for people hoping to get a movie-style Deadpool figure, you’ll still be waiting a while (or at least until the Disney/Fox merger is completed), as the entire Deadpool themed wave of Marvel Legends is comic book styled. The figures rumored for this wave have all previously been confirmed as coming soon by Hasbro, so it’s likely an accurate wave listing.  This wave will supposedly be comprised of Deadpool (90’s Style), Cable (90’s Style), Domino, X-23 (X-Force), Paladin, Deathlok, Deadpool (X-Force, possibly a re-release?) and a Build-A-Figure Sasquatch!

Hopefully, we will see more information from Hasbro in the coming weeks as to what figures we can truly expect to see in the upcoming waves of the Marvel Legends line! In the meantime, these rumored waves already sound pretty awesome, so maybe we will get lucky and they’ll line up!

Lanard ‘Rampage’s To Walmart

Okay, so we knew that we were getting a live-action film adaptation of the classic video game ‘Rampage’ this summer. But we didn’t know that we would be getting a toyline for this film, let alone just how damn cool it would end up being! The team at Lanard toys (who handled the toyline for last year’s ‘Kong: Skull Island’) has released a number of toys for the upcoming film this week, and they look phenomenal! The entire line appears to be based in the 3.75″ scale (loosely based around their long-running ‘CORPS’ line of military figures), and (much like with their ‘Kong: Skull Island’ line) each Monster from the film comes as part of a figure set that also either includes a playset area or a vehicle.

While images weren’t available for the entire line, so far sets confirmed include ‘Canister Contact’ and ‘Big City Brawl’ versions of the film’s monsters George the Gorilla, Ralph the Wolf, and Lizzie the Crocodile (although he was originally an iguana in the game series). There will also be a massive ‘Mega’ version of George the Gorilla that looks like an upgraded version of their huge ‘Kong’ figure from last year with some noted improvements! No word on if we’ll be getting ‘Mega’ versions of Ralph or Lizzie at this time. The entire line looks to be Walmart exclusive, but if it’s anything like last year’s ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Walmart exclusive line (which it very much appears to be emulating) then the price point should be pretty low on these, making them ‘must buys’ for monster movie fans!
