Mark Wahlberg Six Billion Dollar Man

Mark Wahlberg recently won the honor of the highest paid male actor in Hollywood for 2017.  While ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ underperformed, at least in the U.S., he did score one of the year’s biggest comedy hits with ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ and he starred in the acclaimed Ridley Scott drama ‘All the Money in the World’.  He is now busy filming action movie ‘Mile 22’, which is planned as the first of a trilogy and has two more movies in pre-production.  Though he has ‘Mile 22’ coming, it looks as though he is ready setting up his next major franchise, ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’ a film reboot of the 1970s TV series ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’.

And he won’t have to travel far.  ‘Mile 22’ is now filming in Atlanta and that’s the same location that will serve as the shooting location for ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’.  Here is the information about that film that is available at this time:

*THE SIX BILLION DOLLAR MAN*

SUMMER 2018

ATLANTA, GEORGIA

The Warner Bros. film has Mark set to play the role of Steve Austin.

Military officer Steve Austin, who becomes part of a top secret government program after a horrific accident leaves him near death. With the help of cutting-edge technology is brought back to life with extraordinary abilities, making him the world’s first truly bionic man.

Argentian filmmaker Damián Szifron (Wild Tales) is set to write and direct the film.

Ground Breach is expected to complete production on February 23rd.

It isn’t clear, but if shooting takes place this summer, February is an extremely long production time.  Shooting usually only takes about three months, so I would imagine that the February end date is when post-production is expected to be completed, with special effects, score, and everything.

This film was originally slated for release on December 22, 2017.  Considering how packed this December was at the box office, it’s probably best that this film got delayed.  If post-production wraps in February, this film would theoretically be ready for release in spring of next year.  But considering how little news is available about ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’, it’s a coin toss as to whether this will come together as quickly as planned.
