‘Star Trek: Discovery’ was a mixed bag for ‘Star Trek’ fans with some Trekkies loving it and some preferring the more comedic approach to the ideals of Gene Roddenberry’s baby in ‘The Orville.’ For fans who enjoy ‘Discovery,’ we’ve got a real treat for you today with ten behind-the-scenes photos of the cast and crew!
First up is a bit of relaxation on set as Doug Jones in costume as Lieutenant Saru helps Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham sore shoulders out with a quick rubdown. One has to wonder if those alien fingers are helping her to relax or are just creepy to have around!
Next up is a trio of Klingons checking their Twitter and Facebook feeds to make sure that they’re all caught up on the latest cosmic drama.
Here we have director Lee Rose looking like she is trying to ignore Jason Isaacs who is getting ready for his role as Captain Gabriel Lorca.
Rainn Wilson who plays Harry Mudd is going to be making his own splash in social media that those Klingons might see on their feed as he takes a selfie with Martin-Green!
Who says the cast and crew don’t have fun as Isaacs jumps towards Wilson!
Emily Coutts in character as Keyla Detmer and Sara Mitich’s Airiam are working with Jones to make sure they’ve got their lines down.
Here we have Wilson, Rose, and Isaacs on set between takes looking as if they’re having a good time. Rose seems less embarrassed by Isaacs in this one.
Action! All that running on ‘The Walking Dead’ clearly prepared Martin-Green to make a break from the Klingons!
Martin-Green looks like she’s having fun working with Anthony Rapp who portrays Lieutenant Paul Stamets on the show.
Finally, we have Martin-Green and Jones in a forest with Shazad Latif’s Lieutenant Ash Tyler:
It looks that the cast and crew at least had fun making the series and hopefully, that shined through for everyone who has enjoyed it so far.

He fell in love with science fiction and horror at the same time while watching the movie Alien at probably far too young of an age while still being extremely impressionable and has been happily obsessed with both since! Around the same time, he had also developed an unhealthy addiction to comic books that continues to this day!Want to talk about anything geeky? Reach out on Twitter - @StuartConover
