Joker

Almost a year ago we already heard from director David Ayer who stated that ‘Suicide Squad‘ “has its flaws” and if he could change things that he’d “make Joker the main villain and engineer a more grounded story” and now he has once again agreed with that thought. It isn’t every day that you see a director so hard on the decision he made with a movie but ‘Suicide Squad’ did polarize many moviegoers which gave the film a pretty mixed review for both critics and fans.

However, Jared Leto’s Joker wasn’t universally loved so putting the Clown Prince of Crime front and center might not have been the best choice either. Still, he felt a bit like he was shoehorned in with how much hype was made about his method acting and inclusion in the film.

As to the latest statement? It came from Twitter where producer and writer Norman D. Golden II chimed in on his thoughts to the film:

The apology itself came from the same thread of Tweets where someone else mentioned their preference for ‘Suicide Squad’ over the lackluster ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of MARTHA! Justice’.

If he’s so thrilled to bring Leto back though fans can hope he has a chance to have Joker have a real role and not just a cameo in ‘Gotham City Sirens‘ as Leto has been pretty quiet on any future appearances. With the upcoming Batman movie not including him, at least not initially, it seems like a great waste of Batman’s most infamous villain.

Do you wish that Joker was the main villain in ‘Suicide Squad’? With Batman already making a cameo would it have made it harder to not have more screen time with the Dark Knight if Leto did have a greater presence? Share your thoughts below!
