runaways

Marvel’s ‘Runaways‘  is a fan-favorite property Hulu will try and sell to a widespread audience and they’re dropping hints as to the young heroes powers in these first set of posters. Above, you can see a group shot of the kids which also has a hint of what they’ll be able to do when they debut on your streaming devices on November 21st, 2018 for everyone who has Hulu.

You can see Ariela Barer as Gert who has can telepathically control a velociraptor which she named Old Lace. While you can’t see her power, you can see Lace’s tail making an appearance. Next up is Allegra Acosta as Molly. In the comics, she is the youngest of the group and super strong. She’s also a mutant but as this is the Marvel world, I’m sure the M word won’t be mentioned here at all. Rhenzy Feliz’s Alex has a high-level intellect that could be on par with Tony Stark and will be key to the group’s survival. However, fans of the comics will expect much from him as time goes on. Next up is Lyrica Okano as Nico who has the ability to control the Staff of One which allows her to cast spells in a unique manner. We last saw the staff in ‘Doctor Strange’ wielded by her mother though it is unclear if that connection will be present in the series due to the disconnect between the films and shows. Gregg Sulkin’s Chase is rocking the Fistigons which will be useful in fights and is a surprisingly well-versed in technology as well, which will become apparent as the series moves on. The last shot is of Virginia Gardner’s Karolina and that bracelet is actually holding her power in check. Turns out she’s an alien with some amazing powers.

Standing behind them you can see what looks to be a group of people in robes and if it follows the comics to the letter, they will actually be the parents of these children who are crime lords that are grooming them to rule the world, or at least the West Coast. These aren’t bad kids though and aren’t thrilled by the direction being chosen for them.

Now I did say that there were a slew of posters so we also have an individual one focusing on each of these heroes as can be seen below! I’ll include them in the same order as those who were shown above and end it with a new group shot of these young runaways:

So, more hints of the characters and what we can expect from them. The final poster as well looks pretty good and I’m getting eager for Hulu to release this later this month. Many of the comic readers on the site are huge fans of this series so we’re all trying to go in without high expectations but it’s hard to not get excited about this one.
