The Force is strong in ‘Han Solo: A Star Wars Story‘, at least the Dark Side of it will be as Darth Vader will be making an appearance! After Spencer Wilding’s stunning portrayal of the Sith Lord in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,‘ rumors have been running rampant that he would be showing off his skills with a lightsaber again sooner than later! In fact, Wilding had to miss a convention appearance and the reasoning why had been due to filming for “the newest film in the Star Wars universe.” While this led everyone to assume he would be in this outing for the young scoundrel, it was quickly shut down and said to be false.
It still might be, though it does sound like someone will be wielding that red lightsaber in Ron Howard’s ‘Star Wars’ outing after all! A source close to the production said that someone was in the iconic armor “as recently as two weeks ago” though there were no details past that. We aren’t sure if this means that Wilding did get to reprise the role or even how much Darth Vader could be involved.
If whatever heist that Solo gets involved in takes place aboard an Imperial ship or compound, this inclusion of Vader could easily be just him walking through the background. As this is a tale of Han Solo, I would hope that Vader’s impact is felt but that his role is minimal. While his scenes were quite memorable in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,’ he honestly didn’t have much on-screen time there either and hopefully, that will also be the case here.
Are you happy to hear that we’ll be seeing more of Darth Vader on the big screen in ‘Han Solo: A Star Wars Story’ or do you think that we didn’t need another outing of the Dark Lord in this one? Share your thoughts below!
