Fans of ‘Hannibal‘ everywhere officially have a reason to be excited as Bryan Fuller has announced that “conversations” about a fourth season have officially begun! For every Fannibal who has a taste for more of Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen reprising their roles as Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter respectively, then you’re in luck! Thanks to a recent tweet, Fuller has served up a confirmation that talks of a continuation of the series are in the works! NBC initially canceled the show due to ratings with executive producer Martha De Laurentiis blaming the ax on online piracy. With critics and audiences both loving the series, sadly the numbers just weren’t there. However, with NBC’s rights soon coming to an end, it seems like De Laurentiis is in talks to bring it back. Sadly, we don’t know as to which network or service they’re in talks with.
Here’s the Tweet that made us hungry for more details:
Conversations couldn’t start until 2 years after the final airing of season 3. @neoprod has started those conversations. This takes time.

Between finding a network or streaming service to air the new episodes, making sure Fuller, Dancy, and Mikkelsen’s schedules can all line up, and actually having things greenlit, we shouldn’t hold our breaths quite yet. However, the blood is in the water and I suspect it won’t be long until someone bites. With a creative team that has all expressed interest in bringing the series back, one would hope that it would help make this a reality and not just wishful thinking at some point in the next year.
