The ‘Hellboy‘ reboot has just gotten a bit more prolific as director Neil Marshall has brought genre actress and fan-favorite Milla Jovovich (‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’,’The Fifth Element’) in to play the Blood Queen. If we’re going to be getting a new take on Mike Mignola‘s iconic hero, it is only fitting that we’ll have an actress known for her action packed roles for David Harbour to go up against. With Ian McShane already tapped as Professor Broom, the cast is coming together! While I’m looking forward to which of Hellboy’s other friends might be cast for the film, I’m thrilled about who has been announced so far!

I’m really hoping that the script which Marshall has put together with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden will do these characters, Mignola, and audiences justice. This is a fully realized world on paper and if the studio makes a cinematic universe off of it, attracting a cast like this is the way to go.

At this point, it should be noted that Jovovich hasn’t officially signed on the dotted line yet, but they’re in final talks so unless something drastic changes this should be official at any time. Assuming she does join the production, this is another indication that we’re going to be in for a lot of action when Hellboy makes his rebooted debut.

Any further casting news should be coming quick as Marshall has just finished directing the pilot episode for Netflix’s ‘Lost In Space’ reboot and is now spending all of his time playing in the Mignolaverse.

Are you happy to hear that Jovovich will be joining ‘Hellboy’ as the Blood Queen? Is there another actress who excels at the action which you would have like to have seen considered for the part? Share your thoughts below!
