stranger things

When ‘Stranger Things’ took the world by storm following its premiere last summer, there was one question that was on the minds of fans and producers alike: How do you follow that? It’s a tall order, to say the least, but The Duffer Brothers are undoubtedly up for the challenge.

It was always clear that the watchword of the show’s second season would be “consequences.” Now, with the unveiling of a three-minute trailer at San Diego Comic Con, we can begin to get a sense of just what shape those consequences might take. In particular, the trailer underscores a point that was already clear by the end of the first season finale. Namely that Will Byers (who is due to have a larger role this year) will continue to feel the effects of his ordeal in the Upside Down. For Will, this apparently includes catching glimpses of the Upside Down as he goes about his otherwise normal life. But are these simple flashbacks or something more sinister? The trailer also teases the fate of Millie Bobby Brown’s breakout character Eleven, who was seemingly lost after confronting the Demogorgon. Of course, this being ‘Stranger Things’, you can never count on matters being quite that simple.

You can see the trailer for yourself here:

‘Stranger Things’ features returning stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Joe Kerry, Noah Schnapp, Matthew Modine, and Winona Ryder alongside a crew of newcomers that includes Linnea Berthelsen, Paul Reiser, Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, and Sean Astin. The second season of the acclaimed supernatural drama will arrive on Netflix on October 27, 2017.
