One of this summer’s biggest science fiction adventures ‘Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets’ is hitting theaters this weekend! Coincidentally, the years biggest real life science fiction adventure is also happening this weekend with San Diego Comic Con 2017! With ‘Valerian’ finally seeing its wide release, the team at NECA has finally pulled back the curtain and given fans a look at the entire first wave of figures based on the film!
NECA announced that they were working on products under the ‘Valerian’ license a few weeks back, but had only shown a single figure of a K-Tron (a type of robotic solider from the film) at the time. Now we’re getting a full look at our heroes, Valerian and Laureline in all of their 7″ plastic glory!
‘Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets’ is based on the French comic ‘Valerian and Laureline’ and comes from acclaimed director Luc Besson; the genius behind fan favorite films like ‘The Fifth Element’, ‘The Professional’, and ‘Lucy’. The film stars Dane Dehaan and Cara Delevingne as intergalactic government agents Valerian and Laureline!
The first wave of these 7″ scale figures includes Valerian (with a spot on likeness to actor Dane Dehaan), Laureline (who also features a dead accurate sculpt based on actress Cara Delevingne), and a K-Tron. Each figure is fully articulated and comes packaged with character specific accessories as well as a display stand.
The first wave of NECA’s ‘Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets’ are set to hit stores in September! Currently, there is no information available as to what fans can expect to see in a second wave, should a second wave of figures be made.
