As the Star Wars cinematic universe keeps chugging along, LucasFilm and parent company Disney have made it clear that, as long as fans are showing interest, they will keep new films coming to theaters. Episode VII was met with great excitement from fans, Episode VIII will be hitting theaters later this year, and we’ve seen the first-ever Star Wars “anthology” film, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,’ released to much fan and critical acclaim.
It makes sense, then, that the excitement is building for the next “anthology” film, the as-of-yet untitled project that is focusing on the “early years” of Han Solo. A good Solo story can’t be told alone, however – pun intended – and fans know that Donald Glover has been cast to play the younger version of Lando Calrissian, the character first portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in the original ‘Star Wars’ films ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi.’
Thanks to the film’s newly-added director, Ron Howard, we’ve now been given our first look at Glover’s take on the character. Howard has been fairly generous with his small glimpses into the production, having previously shared images of a wardrobe rack that likely belongs to Lando, and a picture of “young” Chewbacca. Take a look at the most recent gift below:
We’ll hope that Howard continues to give us cool insights from the film – heck, maybe one day the movie will actually even get a title!
