Paramount Pictures has just released a new trailer for ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’.

The new 2 and half minute trailer gives us a little more detail about the film’s plot.  There’s certainly a lot of eye candy (considering that its 3D it was expected), but it becomes what looks like a full on Decepticon invasion of Earth. And the trailer hints that the Autobots feel betrayed by the U.S. government and let us take on the Decepticons on our own.

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Michael Bay, the film stars Shia LaBeouf (‘Constantine’, ‘I, Robot’), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel (‘Transformers’, ‘Las Vegas’), Hugo Weaving (‘The Matrix’, ‘The Wolfman’), Patrick Dempsey (‘Grey’s Anatomy’), Leonard Nimoy (‘Star Trek’, ‘Fringe’), Tyrese Gibson (‘Fast Five’, ‘Death Race’), John Malkovich (‘Red’, ‘Jonah Hex’), Frances McDormand (‘Fargo’, ‘Aeon Flux’), Alan Tudyk (‘Dollhouse’, ‘Firefly’) and John Turturro (‘The Big Lebowski’, ‘Transformers’).

Plot:
The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers’ final battle.

‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ hits theaters on July 1, 2011.
