There’s no getting around it: Stephen King adaptations are all the rage right now. Yes, there have been many that have come before, both for TV and for the cinemas, but 2017 will see three new projects within just a few months of each other: ‘The Mist‘ has recently started its first-season run on the Spike TV network; Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey are headlining the new ‘The Dark Tower‘ film heading to theaters in August; and just one month later, also in theaters, we get a remake of a King story that’s already had the book-to-screen treatment, ‘IT.’
Thanks to EW, we have some new pictures and concept art from the film to share with you. From what we’ve seen so far, the film appears to be keeping a bit of the “retro” vibe, which is never a bad thing. Under the direction of Andres Muschietti, the movie will star Bill Skarsgard as the titular supernatural clown, with supporting screen time from Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Hamilton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Javier Botet, and Owen Teague.
Take a look at the new photos and concept art, and let us know what you think about this version of the film in the comments below!
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Stephen King’s ‘IT’ arrives in theaters on September 8th.
