Fox is beginning an intriguing TV-based crossover with their ‘X-Men’ film franchise with their upcoming series ‘The Gifted.’ Unlike other series set in the realm of mutants – notably FX’s previously-aired ‘Legion‘ – ‘The Gifted’ is designed to co-exist with the world established by the X-films, even though there’s been no official confirmation as of yet that there will be any substantial character crossover planned.
Regardless, ‘The Gifted’ will feature many original characters that fans of the ‘X-Men’ family of comics will readily recognize: most notably Blink (Jamie Chung), Polaris (Emma Dumont), Eclipse (Sean Teale), Thunderbird (Blair Redford), and Agent Turner (Coby Bell), among others. Showrunner Matt Nix will guide the series, and long-time X-Men film guru Bryan Singer is directing the pilot episode of the series. The series also stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White.
Take a look at the short intro videos for the nine main characters of the show. It should be an intriguing look at another side of the X-Men universe when the show premieres this Fall!
Family adventure series THE GIFTED, from 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
‘The Gifted’ will premiere on Monday, October 2, on Fox.
