Game of Thrones

With the seventh season of ‘Game of Thrones‘ at hand, we know that Spoilers Are Coming and we’ve got the first batch which includes both episode titles and the synopsis of the first three chapters. With a shortened season, we know that there will be more screen time for each of the living fan-favorites and it seems that one actor, in particular, will be showing up right off the bat.

As these could be potential spoilers, I’ll give you one last chance to turn back.

First off let me say that it sounds as if Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen will be featured front and center as the show comes back. Before we get to the specific episode details here is the overall synopsis of the season:

Daenerys Targaryen has finally set sail for Westeros with her armies, dragons and new Hand of the Queen, Tyrion Lannister. Jon Snow has been named King in the North after defeating Ramsay Bolton in the Battle of the Bastards and returning Winterfell to House Stark. In King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister has seized the Iron Throne by incinerating the High Sparrow, his followers and her rivals in the Sept of Baelor. But as old alliances fracture and new ones emerge, an army of dead men marches on the Wall, threatening to end the game of thrones forever.

While fan-favorite Tyrion Lannister is only mentioned in one of these, as the new Hand of the Queen, I expect we’ll be seeing quite a bit of Peter Dinklage in the episodes to come.

We return to ‘Game of Thrones’ with Episode #61 titled “Dragonstone” which is set to debut on July 16th, 2017 and is described as:

Jon (Kit Harington) organizes the defense of the North. Cersei (Lena Headey) tries to even the odds. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) comes home.

It will be fun to see how Dany reacts to being back in Westeros which she surely can’t remember. Also, I’m curious as to if we’ll be witnessing any of the battles in the North which were hinted in the trailers right away or if those are all teasers for later in the season. If Cersei is trying to even the odds you can almost guess that Euron Greyjoy will be making an appearance as he’ll have the only fleet that could pose a threat to the one bringing Dany’s invasion.

Episode #62 is titled “Stormborn” and drops on July 23rd, 2017:

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros.

With Snow dealing with a revolt it seems unlikely that he will be the unexpected visitor. I’m sure Littlefinger is in the North still and likely causing Snow’s revolt which makes it hard to imagine who will be calling on our Queen. We know that “Stormborn” is one of Dany’s titles which seems like we may learn more about that here.

Finally, the third episode we are aware of is titled “The Queen’s Justice, ” and you have to wonder if we’re going to be talking about Daenerys, Cersei, or both here. Potentially, we’ll even hear about someone else being a Queen.

This episode is described as:

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) holds court. Cersei (Lena Headey) returns a gift. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) learns from his mistakes.

I’m excited to see which of the above Queens this will be referring to and am curious as to Jamie’s mistake.
