Doctor Strange villain ebony maw

For anyone thinking that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will be a movie of every hero into MCU versus Thanos alone, you clearly have not thought this through. The villain is going to have some minions on his side to get his dirty work done, if for nothing else so we have more dynamic battles on screen and to make sure to give every superhero something to do during the climactic action scenes. There’s been a lot of

There’s been a lot of talk so far about the MCU’s Black Order, which in the comics is the group that Thanos recruits to aid him during the Infinity War storyline. Rumor has that in the MCU the Black Order is going to be comprised of the “children” of Thanos (like Gamora and Nebula) that are still loyal to his cause, and more than willing to go toe-to-toe with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to help their “father” claim all the Infinity Stones and rule the universe.

Thanks to a recent set photo posted over on Just Jared, we might have the identity one such member of the Black Order, who will be squaring off against Doctor Strange at some point in the film. Ever since it was revealed that Strange’s “Eye of Agamotto” was actually an Infinity Stone, we all knew Thanos would be coming for the Doctor, so it is no surprise to see Strange under attack, and the photo shows the villain attacking him will be mostly CGI. However, the tag on the CGI placeholder is what gives away who it might be, as it says “EB Maw,” which most likely means the villain is Ebony Maw, the Marvel alien villain whose powers allows him to persuade others to do his bidding just by speaking, which would come in handy if one was trying to convince a hero (especially the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth) to give up a powerful cosmic stone. Of course, it could turn out to be false as there is no official confirmation of Ebony Maw in the film just yet. But it is a cool possibility.

What are your thoughts on Doctor Strange facing off against Maw? Are there any other possibilities on who “EB Maw” could be, or is this pretty cut and dry? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
