tala-ashe-smashLegends of Tomorrow‘ is no stranger to time travel and now the hit CW series has picked up actress Tala Ashe (‘American Odyssey’,’Smash’) as a new time traveling cast memeber. She’s signed on to join in for the third season as a series regular so will clearly have quite an impact going forward.

Who will she be playing though? Her character is set to be “Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from the year 2030.” Technology has moved forward at an even greater breakneck pace than today and while some aspects are great, “fear, prejudice, and mistreatment of the planet” have driven her to the past as a “grey hat activist.” When we first meet her, she seems to just be a technophile with a vast knowledge of computers, but we’ll learn that she actually has power from a mystical source.

For those unfamiliar with Tomaz, in the comics, she goes by the name of Isis. The ancient Egyptian goddess and not the terrorists. She was a slave of Black Adam‘s who gave her an amulet that provided amazing abilities. There is no word that we’ll even see a hint of Black Adam here which is highly unlikely due to his future inclusion in the DCEU.

The Legends are going to be busy right off the bat as well as their fight with the Legion of Doom have thrown people, objects, and animals throughout time. While Rip Hunter’s Time Bureau is busy working to clean up the mess, there are a few problems only our heroes can solve.

Are you looking forward to the inclusion of Isis in ‘Legends of Tomorrow’? Do you feel that we’ll somehow get a nod to Black Adam in the series? Share your thoughts below!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return to The CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET this fall.
