Transformers: The Last Knight

Oscar Award-winner and actual knight, Sir Anthony Hopkins narrates a new clip teasing his next flick, ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.  This video reveals the “secret history” of the Transformers.  It appears that the Robots In Disguise didn’t first arrive on Earth in 2007 or even in 1984, when the cartoon and toy line first arrived in the U.S.  No, it appears they have been among us for a much, much longer time.  And not so much in disguise.

Director Michael Bay unleashed this clip via his personal website:

The Dino-Bots hinted at a deeper legacy, but this is the first time, in any medium, that we’ve seen Transformers woven throughout history.  This could be an interesting twist and could add a new level of depth to their already fairly complex mythology.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

This marks the fifth live action ‘Transformers’ film, all of which have been directed by Bay.  Mark Wahlberg  returns as the brilliantly named Cade Yeager, introduced in the last film ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’.  He will be reunited with Stanley Tucci as Joshua Joyce, who also debuted in the same film.  John Turturro, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson also return, having been with the franchise off and on through various films.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ starring Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, Santiago Cabrera, John Turturro, and Anthony Hopkins and the voices of Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, John DiMaggio, John Goodman and Ken Watanabe  hits theaters on June 23, 2017.

What do you think?  Does this new clip make you more intrigued about the history of the ‘Transformers’?
