We’ve known about Syfy’s upcoming ‘Blood Drive‘ since last Summer and we’re finally getting a taste of what the show is going to look like. The premise behind the series is that it was designed to look as if it was made quite some time ago and is taking place in the far future of 1999. The show is a complete Grindhouse styled setting so expect sex, gore, and so much more that could easily offend the squeamish. This first 13-episode season will have Alan Ritchson (‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘,’The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’) in the starring role of Arthur Bailey.

Bailey is the last uncorrupt cop on the beat and has to go undercover to bring down one of the worst criminal activities in Los Angeles. To do so, we might just see him having to break some of his personal beliefs just to survive let alone bring down the Blood Drive.

Violent, gory, sexy, there is a lot of ways to describe this first trailer and all of them are a bit surprising to see on Syfy. With the network’s commitment to original content having becoming more serious over the last couple of years it is fun to see that we’re getting something os outrageous that isn’t about a ‘Sharknado’ or an original film by Asylum that pits a giant iguana vs. a mutant jellyfish.

Los Angeles in the near future: where water is as scarce as oil, and climate change keeps the temperature at a cool 115 in the shade. It’s a place where crime is so rampant that only the worst violence is punished, and where Arthur Bailey — the city’s last good cop — runs afoul of the dirtiest and meanest underground car rally in the world, Blood Drive. The master of ceremonies is a vaudevillian nightmare, The drivers are homicidal deviants, and the cars run on human blood. Buckle Up, Lube Up and prepare for everything you know about Cable Television to Blow up!

The ‘Blood Drive’ premiere will race onto Syfy on June 14th, 2017 at 10/9c!
