The most recent red band trailer for ‘Alien: Covenant‘ finally gave us an idea of what the crew would be up to in this film and the latest delves more into that as well as new shots of the xenomorphs that will be hunting them. The cast of the Covenant is paired couples who are going to attempt to colonize this brave new world though they have no idea what is really in store for them. We were recently introduced to them in this 5-minute prelude video. If you’ve seen the green band version of this trailer, there isn’t much new here outside of an influx of gore that helps set the tone.

Ridley Scott looks to have learned from his mistakes that were made in ‘Prometheus’ though if I recall all of the trailers for it had audiences interested as well. Additional scenes do include Michael Fassbender‘s David whose fate after leaving LV-223 is still shrouded in mystery.

You can take a look at the trailer right here:

I do feel that 20th Century Fox is trying to differentiate the film from ‘Prometheus’ even if David and Engineer technology seem to be in play. We’re still two months away from the release date, so I expect we’ll be getting more hints as to the overall plot shortly.
