When most of you think of Dark Horse, you think of all of the awesome comics that they produce from ‘Hellboy’ to ‘The Goon’ to the ongoing ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ and ‘ALIENS’ titles! What you most likely don’t think about, is just how much other cool stuff Dark Horse has their hands in these days! Cue in the team at Dark Horse Deluxe, who produce some of the coolest collectibles around! Over the past few years, they’ve been growing a real name for themselves among gamers with their ongoing lines of statues and replicas from fan favorite franchises like ‘Halo’ and ‘The Witcher’. This year at New York Toy Fair 2017, they look to be continuing that trend with the reveal of new products for both of these lines!
For their long running ‘Halo’ line of scaled ship replicas, fans can look forward to two new additions! Both spawning fresh out of the upcoming ‘Halo Wars 2’, we can look forward to seeing The UNSC Spirit Of Fire and The UNSC Vulture hitting shelves later this year! The UNSC Spirit of Fire is an 8″ long polyresin replica of the iconic ship from the ‘Halo’ series. The UNSC Spirit Of Fire is set to hit stores on March 1, 2017 for $49.99. Meanwhile, the UNSC Vulture is a 6″ replica of the popular gunship that is expected to hit stores later this summer for $39.99.
These two add to the already extensive line of ‘Halo’ ship replicas that includes vehicles like the Covenant Banshee Ultra, UNSC Prowler, the UNSC Pelican Dropship, and more! Dark Horse has said that ‘Halo’ fans can certainly expect to see this line continuing beyond these two new releases, so there is definitely more coming our way in the future!
If ‘Halo’ isn’t your thing, maybe the fantasy adventure franchise ‘The Witcher’ is more your speed? After the wild success of their figures based on ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ of Geralt, Triss, Ciri, Eredin, and Yennefer, the team at Dark Horse Deluxe has announced plans to expand the line further with three new characters!
While we got a figure of him previously, fans can expect to see a new version of our hero Geralt, this time in his Grandmaster Ursine armor! Additionally, we can expect to see medic Shani and the bard Dandelion joining the line this September. Thankfully these aren’t expected to break the bank if you’re a ‘Witcher’ fan, as each of these figures is expected to retail for around $34.99!
Whether you’re a fan of ‘Halo’ or ‘The Witcher’ franchise, the crew at Dark Horse Deluxe certainly don’t look like they’ll be having trouble making lots of new collectibles fans this year! Hopefully,we will see even more great new gaming related products revealed soon!
